Craft Stay Cool Socks

Review

Regulate your foot temperature with Craft’s rather nifty stay cool socks; perfect on their own in the warm or as an extra layer in the cold.

Gone are the days when you could simply pull on a pair of socks in the dark, but when you want that extra edge to your performance Craft have the answer – well, for your feet, that is.

Yep, these babies work best when they’re placed on the correct foot, and Craft even stitch a left and a right logo on the socks so you don’t have to fret.

Socks have gone technical, and rightly so. The feet are often a neglected area of our body and yet we spend so much time on them. Feet should be pampered at every opportunity and regulating the temperature in hot weather is a good place to start.
Feet sweat, they sweat a lot, and so transferring moisture away from the skin is paramount in maintaining a comfortable fit in your shoes.

During the recent hot temperatures the Craft Stay Cool Socks performed faultlessly in wicking away the moisture in both cycling and running disciplines.

The fit is reassuringly secure without any pinching or bunching, and as with all wicking garments, they work best where they touch the skin; hence their close-fitting nature.
The synthetic Polypropylene and elastic yarn is woven in several different ways and directions to give extra support and fit where needed, especially across the arch and ankle.

There was very little sign of the ankle area marking my race horse like ankles, even after prolonged use. This confirmed the soft and yielding nature of the elasticated fabric.

The burning question is: would you feel any difference if you put them on the wrong feet; in my opinion – no. I think you’d have to get into the lab to feel any difference.

The facts remain the same though: the Stay Cool Socks from Craft do a cracking job at maintaining a pleasant odour while keeping your feet cool whether you’re on the bike or in sweaty trainers.
